EXPERIENCE
Robert Gilbert specializes in Workers’ Compensation defense and has worked as a corporate counsel for 35 years at the Liberty Mutual Insurance Company.
After being admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1979, he worked for 5 years at Franz & Mintz, in Elizabeth, NJ representing Petitioners on Workers’ Compensation Claims and handling Social Security Claims, municipal court work and liability claims. He began working as in-house counsel for the Liberty Mutual Insurance Company at the Law Office of Robert G. Bressler in 1986 handling Workers’ Compensation files including the preparing of pleadings and motions, court appearances, trial work, depositions, computer work, reporting to Claims and appellate work. He has also handled insurance coverage and medical provider claims. He worked at Liberty Mutual for 35 years until his retirement from the in-house Law Office of Frank Viscomi on December 30, 2021. He is presently associated with Leitner, Tort, DeFazio & Brause where he is continuing to handle Workers’ Compensation files.
