Christopher B. Leitner

EXPERIENCE

Chris specializes in Workers’ Compensation, but also deals with civil, municipal, and business matters. Chris joined the practice in June, 2000 and has been a partner since 2006. He has argued before the New Jersey Appellate Division and Federal Tribunals, and has submitted briefs and Amicus Curiae briefs to the New Jersey Supreme Court. New Jersey Super Lawyers has consistently named him a “Rising Star” since 2006. He regularly presents on Workers’ Compensation law to such groups as the New Jersey Self Insured Association and the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education.

Chris attended law school at the University of Southern California, where he was a member of the Law Journal Review of Law & Women’s Studies. At the University he also achieved “High Honors” grades at the Post-Conviction Justice Project Clinical Program and on his Law Review Note.  He also achieved Honors grades in Criminal Law, Directed Research, Gifts, Wills, & Trusts, Evidence, Legislation, Constitutional Law II, and Employment Law.

Mr. Leitner was elected to the Point Pleasant Borough Council in 2008, and re-elected in 2011.  He also serves on the Carnival & Amusement Ride Safety Advisory Board, advising the Commissioner of the Department of Community Affairs.  Mr. Leitner serves as municipal chair for the Point Pleasant Democratic party, and has served as a Screening Committee member, Training Coordinator, Regional Director and Parliamentarian for Ocean County Democratic party. Mr. Leitner also serves on the Executive Committee of the New Jersey Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Section.

He lives in Point Pleasant with his wife, Robyn, and their children Liam and Moira.  They spend their free time at the beach, cycling, practicing yoga, and cooking.  Mr. Leitner also volunteers regularly especially with the American Diabetes Association and various autism organizations, including Parents of Autistic Children.
